The Fibers
At Fillion Atelier, we work with natural wool fibers, including fine merino, chosen not for their label, but for their hand: the way a yarn behaves under tension, reflects color, softens with use rather than pills and fades.
Wool
Each fiber has memory — it returns to its shape, resists moisture, regulates temperature. It takes care of itself. A well-chosen wool does not age. It develops character. The throws we make today are meant to still be in use twenty years from now, worn into the particular rhythm of a household.
Merino
Merino brings something different — a fineness that shifts the weight of the piece, the way it rests. Blended with wool, it adds a softness that does not compromise structure.
We do not work with synthetics. Not because of a rule, but because natural fibers simply behave better — on the loom, and over time.
